2017-18 school year off to busy start
Roughly two months into the 2017-18 school year, Scholars have had the chance to get moved in, adjust to Oxford life, and get situated in their classes. Here's what we have been up to since the start of the school year:
During move-in week, the executive board was able to take the New Scholar class to Cincinnati for a fun night of Reds baseball. This event was a great way to introduce the freshmen to our upperclassmen while Oxford was dealing with the chaos of move-in week. Also in the first two weeks of school, our chapter went on our annual canoe trip. This event pairs a freshman with an upperclassmen for a great bonding opportunity. This event is a house favorite and always kicks the school year off on a good note.
Outside of those events, Scholars continue to host tailgates for each home Miami football game and host chapter dinners from time to time. Our chapter is looking forward to our favorite fall event: Moms Weekend. Scholars will host their families for a fun weekend of various events the weekend of Nov. 4.
We look forward to the rest of the semester and will keep our website updated each month. Be sure to follow us on our Twitter page for updates as well @Miami_ES.
